Notes on the Furi Phone FLX1
Amazing device and initiative.
I am documenting here my experiences with Furi Phone - hopefully they'll be helpful to some other users.

Pleasant Surprises and Expectations
- The phone feels much lighter than what I expected from 280 grams.
- Screen is pleasantly responsive.
- Customizable "Assistant Button" - Wow! :)
It's on the left side of the phone.
Settings > Assistant Button
- Banking and other high security Android apps
- Maps & navigation
- Video
- Others possibly
Hardware
The hardware of Furi Phone FLX1 is identical to the Gigaset GX6 phone.
Hence, parts and accessories - e.g. protective cases, replacement batteries, etc. - can be sourced from suppliers for GX6.
Booting
- Wish: Short vibration when powering on the phone, so that the user knows when to release the power button, and does not need to look at the screen for the logo to appear.
- What boot time to expect, and the maximum boot time after which a dark screen indicates a problem.
- I want to see kernel boot messages instead of Furi logo.
Charging
- Charger compatibility:
10V/3A up to 30W super fast charging (Power Delivery 3.0)
9V/2A up to 18W fast charging
5V/2A
15W wireless fast charging (Qi-Standard)
Charging duration:
In 1 hour up to 90% (depends on the used charging pad and power supply).
SSH
- SSH via USB is a blast! :)
- It's taking me long time to figure out how to SSH over Wifi after installing
apt install furios-devtools hybris-usb adaptation-hybris-devtools -y
as per FAQ.
I'll post here more detailed instructions once I figure it out.
- Same thing about enabling SSH in Settings.
GPS
- Maps didn't find my usual destination address on the first search (Google maps does it easily). I need to test more and learn how to use it effectively.
Misc
- I didn't know that Debian may require to run multiple times in a row
apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y
until the system is fully up to date and can be safely rebooted. I rebooted after doing this once on my new phone, and ended up with non-bootable device, having to do factory reset. I'm coming from ArchLinux where a single command fully updates the system.
